I just got done manually deleting over 2,000 spam comments from my WordPress blog.....

All I wanted to do was login to my blog account and make a post to my blog for my readers. But after I logged in, I saw a massive accumulation of comments waiting for my moderation.

Unfortunately this wasn't the first time that this has happened to me. I have several blogs in different niches and I tried everything I could to prevent the comment spam from posting to my blogs.

First it just annoyed me everytime I received an e-mail notification of a newly posted blog comment, then logging into my blog account, only to discover it was just spam.

Next I tried the "Did You Pass Math" plugin, which was actually recommended to me from one of worlds top Internet Marketers only to find out the bots were still auto posting spam to my blog through a security hole.

Next I started to fiddle with all the settings in my blog accounts.

I used every possible scenario checking and unchecking each box settings below in my blog account-

- Allow people to post comments on the article

E-mail me whenever:

- Anyone posts a comment
- A comment is held for moderation

Before a comment appears:

- An administrator must always approve the comment
- Comment author must fill out name and e-mail
- Comment author must have a previously approved comment

I used Every possible scenario in my settings
But The Dam Bots Were Still Auto Posting Spam To My Blog!

Again, The only thing I could do was set my controls to hold all posts for moderation by me and then go through and manually delete each post when I felt up to it. Which was basically never...

All that did was build up a massive collection of accumulated spam comments waiting for me to moderate. I don't have time to manually delete hundreds or even thousands of these useless spam comments every day or every few days!

I can't just ignore the comments forever because they suck up and clog server resources.

If your using WordPress, you know exactly the kind of frustration I'm talking about....

So What the hell can we do to prevent this???

I have not tried this on WordPress hosted blogs.
